What the app does

Live speed in the menu bar

Download and upload read from the kernel byte counters macOS already keeps, sampled once a second, at a fixed width so the item never jitters or shoves its neighbours along the bar.

Which app is moving the bytes

Per-process attribution that runs inside the app's own sandbox: no privileged helper, no root daemon, no admin password and no permission prompt.

Data caps on a real billing cycle

Counted from the day the carrier's month starts rather than the calendar month, short months included, with the projected overrun date written as a sentence.

Whether the link is usable

Latency, jitter and packet loss, plus an on-demand responsiveness test that starts on a press and runs until it completes or a second press cancels it.

A readout that suits you

Thirteen readings, seven themes, seven built-in monitoring profiles, and movable modules. Every colour, icon, layout, unit and decimal setting is also configurable, with a contrast guarantee.

Interface detail

MAC, MTU, link speed, IPv4, IPv6 and DNS, and for Wi-Fi the SSID, BSSID, RSSI, noise, channel, band, width, security and PHY mode.

Why the group ships a Mac app

Most of BHD Group sells to Omani businesses, through people who can answer a question in the room. Pinned sells to individuals worldwide through a store listing, against tools that have been on the Mac for over a decade, which is a different discipline: the product has to explain itself with nobody there to help it. The design follows from one decision. Pinned live readout measures rather than tests: it reports the difference between two readings of counters the Mac already maintains and opens no sockets for that readout. Optional connectivity, public IP, weather and responsiveness connections are separately disclosed on pinned.om and begin only when the person enables or requests them.

Frequently asked questions

Who owns Pinned?

It is wholly owned by BHD Group (Bin Haider Darwish L.L.C., Commercial Registration 1334733), a family-owned Omani group based in Muscat.

Is Pinned on the Mac App Store?

Yes. It is published as Pinned: Network Monitor and runs on macOS 13 or later, on both Apple silicon and Intel Macs.

Does Pinned install a background helper or ask for an admin password?

No. Per-app attribution runs inside the app's sandbox rather than through a privileged helper, so there is no admin password at install, no permission dialog, and removing the app bundle stops it. Saved settings and history can remain in the macOS sandbox container until that folder is also deleted.

Does Pinned run a speed test?

No. It reports the difference between two readings of byte counters macOS already keeps, so the figure is what already moved rather than what a probe could achieve. The one exception is the on-demand responsiveness test, which sends test traffic until it completes or you cancel it.

Is Pinned free?

It is free to download, and the menu bar readout with every theme and appearance setting stays free permanently, with no trial clock. Pinned Pro adds five features: per-app bandwidth, data caps and forecast, alerts, the responsiveness test, and 14-day usage history. It is an auto-renewable annual subscription billed by Apple.

Where do I see features, pricing or the download?

At pinned.om, the product's own site, which links to the Mac App Store listing. This page is the group profile and deliberately carries no pricing.
